Moona Lisa - Remoostered

La Gioconda, Leonardo da Vinci's portrait of Lisa Gherardini, is said to be the best known, most visited, most written about, most sung about, and most parodied work of art in the world. Better known as the Mona Lisa, da Vinci painted it at some point between 1503 and 1506. It's now the property of the French Republic and has been on permanent display at the Louvre since 1797 (apart from a brief spell in Napoleon's bedroom!)

The painting was famously stolen in 1911, and Pablo Picasso was questioned by the French police on suspicion of the theft. The real culprit however was Louvre employee Vincenzo Peruggia. The painting was recovered in 1914 after Peruggia unsuccessfully tried to sell it to the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.

Caroline's version, one of the many parodies features her trademark bovine influence whilst remaining loyal to the nostalgia of the original.
